Throwing back to our Riso Hand Fan Workshop last Chinese New Year! It was such a joy watching everyone create their one-and-only hand fan, seeing ideas take shape in Riso layers, catching up with familiar faces, and meeting new friends along the way. The studio felt especially alive that afternoon.

This project actually began as a last-minute idea. With Chinese New Year just one month away, we decided to challenge ourselves to produce a traditional Chinese hand fan despite an already packed schedule. It meant long days, tight timelines, and more than a little stress.
But looking back now, it was completely worth it.

There’s something meaningful about making seasonal objects by hand, especially ones rooted in tradition yet reinterpreted through Risograph printing. Seeing participants bring their own interpretations to the fan reminded us why we do what we do.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a special session. 🧧
