Riso Print Checklist
Artwork Details
- Ensure the artwork is finalized and ready for printing.
- Specify the number of colours and provide a colour separation file, if applicable (e.g., each colour as a separate grayscale layer).
- Confirm file format (usually PDF or PSD or AI).
Print Size
- Specify the size of your final printed product (e.g., A4, A5, custom size).
- Indicate if the artwork has bleed or if full bleed printing is required.
Paper Details
- Select the paper type.
- Specify the paper thickness (e.g., 80gsm, 120gsm, 240gsm).
Print Quantity
- Clearly state how many copies you need.
Number of Pages
- For booklets or zines, mention the total page count, including the cover.
Binding and Finishing
- Specify the binding type (e.g., stapled, saddle-stitched, or loose sheets).
- Include finishing details like trimming, folding, or perforations.
Ink Colours
- Choose specific Riso ink colours (e.g., fluorescent pink, aqua).
Turnaround Time
- Provide your deadline and ask if it’s feasible.
Delivery
- Specify if you need the prints delivered and the location.
Budget or Special Requests
- Mention any budget constraints.
Having this information ready will help the printer provide a precise quotation and streamline the production process.
*** We DO NOT print hard copy Riso proofs. The Risograph printing process involves making masters (stencil) and colours layering work, each layer takes time ( dependent on area of ink coverage ) to dry before printing another. Hence, it is costly to print Riso proofs.
